The Thundering Doom of Eagle Twin

The blues-rock-tarnished doom metal of Eagle Twin takes the form of pagan cosmology. Their work, including a recently released album called The Thundering Heard, is populated by the animal kingdom and generally concerns itself with the beginnings and ends of the world.

Describing the rough storyline of the new record for Noisey, the interview notes how an “ever-present snake grows antlers, which rip through the ground like growing trees, while hooved and horned animals flee burning forests.”

“I’ve always taken a certain comfort in the doomed and apocalyptic outlook,” Eagle Twin guitarist Gentry Densley says. “It’s kind of freeing if you can give into the power of the natural world. There are certain things you can’t fight.”
